Our lifestyle financial planning program has been designed to meet the needs of a successful pro sportsperson.
The life of a sportsperson can be littered with financial insecurity and unpredictability, particularly when one’s career is in its infancy. A typical sportspersons career will last around 15 years, with only 5-10 of those spent at a peak level.
To make financial planning even more important the 2004 Finance Act removed the special exemption given to sportspeople to enable them to receive their pension before the age of 50 and in 2006 new legislation was brought in to increase the earliest age they could take pension benefits to age 55.
This means that having a 15 year earnings period followed by a 20 year gap before they can collect retirement benefits increases the need for a structured financial plan. In fact we feel it’s critical to make the right financial decisions from the start of a professional sports career.
Our planning program for sportspeople will:
In essence, we take the role of your personal financial coach by helping you to create your initial ‘goals based’ financial plan and monitor its progress by organising regular reviews to check your progress against your goals - leaving you to get on with what you do best.
